Start with useful words
Spanish nouns have grammatical gender, so learn the article with the noun: el libro means the book and la casa means the house. Practise the phrase rather than memorising an English word beside an isolated noun.
Build a short sentence
Spanish verbs change with the subject. Compare hablo (I speak) and hablamos (we speak). Begin with a few useful patterns: Me llamo Ana (My name is Ana), Vivo en Madrid (I live in Madrid), and Quiero agua (I want water).
Read and respond
Read the question ¿Cómo te llamas? — What is your name? Reply Me llamo… with your own name. Spanish opening question marks signal where the question begins. Read the whole sentence before answering.
Use a small study routine
Read the examples for two minutes, cover the English meanings and recall them, then write a short response. Check your spelling and compare your sentence with a model. Return to difficult words tomorrow rather than repeating a long list in one sitting.
Continue in School Word
Create an account, choose Spanish as your learning language, and open the language, vocabulary or classroom track. English explanations support the learning material. Course stages organise practice; they are not an external proficiency certificate. Save your work and return for another short session when you are ready.
